RPL Motorsports Civic SI Turbo System Dyno Results!!! ... Dynojet and Mustang

Just wanted to share the results and compile them into one post to make it all easier for you all find and look at. We also took a trip to vist TPG Tuning to use their Mustang dyno. Big thanks to Jay and Nate for their time and use of equipment today.

What we are going to look at is the 4.5psi (wastegate spring) and 10psi runs on our Dynojet and 5psi (wastegate spring) vs 8psi on TPG Tuning's Mustang dyno. The car was running anbot .5 psi more on the Mustang dyno on the gate. Unfortunately we could not do anything over 8.5psi on the Mustang dyno due to tire spin. I will post a pic showing that. Wish I would have got a video, that would have been beter considering the tire smoke over the fenders

4.5psi vs 10psi Dynojet Dyno

5psi vs 8psi Mustang Dyno, Please excuse the mislabeling of the boost pressure

5psi vs 10-11psi wheel spin ... We tried to stap the car in 3 different manors but no go. This is the best we got ...

Just dropped my car off at the shop! Can't wait to drive it! Great numbers.

You guys should update it with the new numbers for the 12 and 14 PSI.

How much for install if I make the trip??

this is the special we are running right now

purchase a stage 2 turbo system from us with a clutch/flywheel package (which is required anyway for making any kind of horsepower), and we will install the turbo system for the price of the clutch install + fluids. price of the clutch install is $300 and fluids run around $67 for oem honda transmission fluid, oem honda oil filter and mobil 1 oil.

If your car is bone stock this is what you would be looking at:

Turbo system w/ 5858 JB turbo: $4295
Id1000 Injectors $440
Hondata Flashpro w/kit purchase $660
DW65c fuel pump $145
Competition Stage 4 clutch $335
Competition Lightweight flywheel $220
Invidia Q300 Exhaust $585

Install: $367
-----------------------------------------------
Total for 380+hp at 10psi $7047

Can I get it with the 6262 instead of the 5858, and well the price out the door still be $7047? How long do I have to stay there so I know to take off work?

That is a hell of a deal. I'd jump on that in a heart beat if I had a 9th.

Would it be possible to get a recirc'd dump? (for added charge obviously) I'm contemplating kits for my 8th and the PRL is definitely in the conversation.

I know they have been busy with a couple more installs, prl motorsports see above.

I would recommend calling or emailing them. You will get better response than posting in the dyno tune thread :P

Went to the PRL site. Seems like the turbo system includes a catless downpipe. Will the the above setup work with high-flow cats?

Also, what's the difference between journal bearing and ball bearing turbos?

I guess prl don't want me to buy this that y prl not replying to my question

sorry for the late response. i missed your post above. the price is the same for the 6262 turbo instead of the 5858. install time requires 4 days, 5 if you have any extra parts we are installing at the same time. It does come with a dyno tune, but we highly recommend using Vit Viper for an etune as he is able to spend more time on the driveability of the tune than we are able to in the short period that we'll have your car.
