I wanted to get some input on this before i spend money and screw myself over. I am currently running the stock 18" wheels on my 15 si. I have an old (early 2000s) set of aluminum 16s that i had on a 2003 Mazda6, 1of which has started to corrode badly to the point that it won't seat a tire. I was going to use 2 of them for snow tires and leave the stock wheels on the rear.

Has anyone on here done this?

I am planning on getting 205/55-16 snow tires which are pretty close to the same overall diameter as the stock wheel/tire.

Will i get a tpms light and if i do will running with it on cause any issues with the system itself later on?

If you do get tpms light you can go to your settings in imid and do recalibration. Just make sure all tires have the same amount of Psi or the tire pressure light will come back again.

Car will look funny on 16" :)

I've seen people at the drag strip with lower size wheels, but not daily driven vehicles.

Hopefully @webby or @Nix can chime in

I know it's going to look goofy but I'd rather that than wreck. I don't really trust low profile tires in the snow.

Are you planning to leave the summer tire on your stock rear wheels ?
They are all season tires and yes i was planning on it but after reading the link that @webby posted I'm starting to think buying 4 16" steelies and snow tires would be better and cheaper than 18"s

Good thinking, running mixed winter/summer/allseason during winter sounded a bit like asking for trouble hehe :P ... Im also rocking the steelies right now, fonction > form for winter !
