Normally when buying a similar product at a lower price the quality is not going to be as good. One can argue that the quality will hopefully be good enough, but one cannot argue that there is no risk at all. Rotas are a good example of the risk factor versus saving money. Hats off to you OP if you have the confidence to go "All In" on this part. I hope it works out for you. Personally, I would be hesitant. Please post close up pics and do a review when you get it.

Crap welds and economies of scale aside....

I'm curious how different the sound might be with that relatively inexpensive DP vs. the full race/others. That could be more of a make or break for people than cost. It could sound great or like total raspy nasty exhaust leak. Also, cat/no cat options? Some people won't run without just cause of emissions and such. Being from NY originally I wouldn't take the chance or the hassle of swapping for the yearly inspections up there.



Also, the OP did post a link to this DP for really inexpensive on ebay and a link to it on the rev9 website for $300. I can definitely appreciate him at least pointing out a cheap option and showing us a ridiculous markup. Hey, it may not hold up the way the other ones will but dang, if i could get the same part for $180 instead of $300 id be pretty pleased.

I still don't think I'd run this though. Let us be proved wrong and it makes a ton of power. hahaha

I still do not understand the other side of this argument because it is pure ignorance. Why are you cheating your car of nice quality parts just to save a few bucks knowing that they are going to fail down the road? This isnt your typical '92 ex with some crappy D series engine. Its a K24 and it demands quality. Are you also going to buy the chinese flashpro too? Oh wait that's not possible. So if some parts of your build are quality you may as well make all of them quality. Also, if you try and argue those welds ARE REMOTELY EVEN CLOSE to a good weld, then you sir should not be striking a bead in the first place.

This is a recently job that I welded on aluminum this is in progress The RBC intake, all of you needs to consider that here in Costa Rica where I live is difficult to make these mods and although not the best, one tries to do the best that I can and all mods on my car is always done myself, I put the body kit my self, the rear 4dr spoiler, roof vortex, rear window spoiler(not in pics but done), JDM emblem, all is done by myself!!!




The RBC intake have the stock K24Z7 injectors

I was thinking about this exhaust. If it turns out the welds are weak, as many suspect, couldn't this be brought to a welder and have it solidified? A muffler shop might do that for a reasonable charge and you would still save money in the end. Idk, just a thought.
