Size wise?.... hmmm.... If panda was able to fit that 255/40 id say go with that. The offset of your wheel is going to dictate your tire setup a little bit so you can avoid rubbing either the strut or the fender. Are you thinking of a +45 or a +35 on those wheels? With the +45 you're going to get close to the strut. It looks like panda fit that 255 on a +35. I could see a bit of fender issue there but if you're willing to do some work to fit thats a pretty wide size. Im a big fan of 235/40 since you get reduced sidewall height and increased contact patch. With those R888 you'll have tons of grip but you could probably still spin the wheels if you wanted to.

I think @safegabe ran into some rubbing issues. Let me see if I can find his thread....
thank you soo much for the info! so you think 235/40 is the best meaty size?

How willing to do fender work are you? You may still need to do a little bit to not rub. If you want to do work you could get the 255 and make them fit. Gabe rubbed with a 235 though.

Most places charge $25 per fender for rolling.

Have to get @squiggy to come over too. He might be in the same boat depending on how his new wheel/tire setup goes.

So I see panda had to roll his fenders pretty hard to fit that 255. He's even got cracked paint all along the crease of the front fender. Just a risk you take when rolling. I've not cracked any paint yet but I take my time and use a heat gun. The newer the paint the less chance but still a risk. If possible I like to shave the rears with a grinder and sand them flat. Did it on my wifes car and it worked out beautifully.

Sometimes on the front you can use the fender tabs and bend them up to hold the liner in place so you don't have to eliminate it entirely. I do recommend pulling the liner out and using the drifter style "stitching" with zip ties to insert a section of plastic to extend the liner so the front and rear clips can hold it in place. When you do the liner tuck it makes it a little too short on both ends. We accidentally wore through the drivers side liner on my wifes car when we initially did it cause we didn't extend the liner. Thought it would stay and it did but, it had just enough angle on it to touch often enough and make a hole.

yeah 255 might be overkill...in your opinion does 235 look beefy ? i need enoughh width to hold all this power lol

Seriously?! You are suggesting I bend up new panels?

This is the last thing I even want to think about right now.

Yeah, its not easy to do properly. I know lots of ricers do it with phone books and baseball bats. If you want non-wavey non-cracked paint then it needs to be done right. Even then you still have the risk of both those things.

235/40 with a little bit of negative camber and a light roll if needed. We know you will rub but like gabe said, it was slight. Its possible you can just get away with a little camber, I'm talking street aggressive camber specs not stance-y, and a liner tuck. The less aggressive you have to be with the fenders the better. Just a slight bend and sometimes liner tuck and you can get away with no issues. I had to massage one of my rear fenders slightly. If I point it out you can see the flare but other than that its barely noticeable. If you have to take the thing full flat crease and then "pull" the fender also is when you really run into paint issues.

Street aggy camber is like -1.5, getting closer to -2 and over is track range. Not drag strip though, like road course HPDE stuff.

Ask @axion_industries what their wheel/tire setup is. They have a really insane build going.

For drag racing a set of the lightest 16" weld/aero/AR wheels you can find with slicks and a set of skinnies out back. Nothing else compares.

If you're not doing road course, auto-x, HPDE stuff and just drag strip: get a dedicated drag setup.

For other driving I would get an easy to fit wheel/tire combo with a great tire.

Whats your budget for all this? Or do you want one do it all setup?

You could also hit up Vit - @VitViper ran 10's or 9's in his car. It was fast enough to get booted from the track for going too fast without a cage. I bet whatever his wheel/tire setup is would totally work for you also. If it's a street tire. I don't know the specifics of his build.
