n00b question, but as title says... Will they fit?

Reason I'm asking is because raceland doesn't carry 9th Gen coils but they do for 8th Gen.

Thanks.

Yes, they do "fit" but there are some issues you will run into. You would be better off waiting for 9th gen coils from Raceland if you have to have them. There are lots of 9th gen coil overs available. Are there particular features of the Racelands that you are looking for that others don't have?

The main issue is that the front sway bar mounting points are different. You could completely remove the front sway if you wanted to but that is a fairly large project in itself.

I just looked them up. I remember those now.....

Racelands are junk. You really get what you pay for with those. I have seen at least one person install them and they failed horribly. These are the 8th gen coil overs on an 8th gen civic. Yes, they are $300 but how much is your life worth when you suspension does this:

Definitely i don't want that to happen.

Maybe as a temporarily drop I can get the Eibach springs, and next summer go full on coilovers?

....great point btw.....

Also you should hit up @323

He is in the Chicago area and has a really nice car. I know he has some experience with the Megan coil overs and could at least give you his opinion on those.

I just went out of my way to get BC Racing Coils and they are great, pretty expensive but glad I made the initial investment

BC and Ksport are two of the best brands in my opinion. Tein is as well.

I was told that Tein coilovers have a coating on the treads that will protect them from corroding.

Probably true, when winter comes I plan on coating my Ksports with the gel they came with....unless @Nix reccomends something else?

If they came with something, it's probably good to use. I was thinking coat the threads with anti-sieze but I'd use what they sent first. The whole reason I didn't get coils is that when I was living in upstate NY I was certain that the nice threaded shock bodies would have been eaten alive by the winter salt and sand.

Our winters here in TN are mild at best. Snows maybe twice a year

All these are less than $1000. You'll be well taken care of if you order from any of these vendors. I have gotten things from all of them and the support and service has been great.

For < 1,000$ I think BC, Ksport, D2 and Tein are the only way to go. Unless your wanting to gamble with your brand new car
