I thought the lexus was better, why did you guys trade it in for a kia?
Honestly, other than the fact that the Lexus was a Lexus, the Kia is nicer in almost every way, I can't think of 1 single feature the Lexus had that the Kia doesn't. But the only reason we were even looking is becuase the Lexus was getting up there in miles and between required services ($850 for 60k service $250 for 70k service) and 4 new tires, we were looking at $2,500 for a car that was almost out of warranty. 2 months ago the ECU had to be replaced, no big deal, Lexus covered that free of charge, then 2 weeks ago, it started acting up again, took it to the dealership and they couldn't duplicate the problem, might not have been an issue any more, but knowing we couldn't afford if we had to replace the ECU (or any major component for that matter) out of pocket, we decided to go ahead and get something new.

I still had 5 years to pay on the Lexus, If I would have had a year or less until pay off, I definately would have kept the Lexus, but I didn't like make Lexus sized payments on a car that was going to start costing me money out of pocket as well.

I see you are looking at some higher end cars, and let me just recommend a thorough inspection, a lot of research on your end, especially 5 year cost to own, maintence etc. and ONLY buying the if they are certified. On average an oil change for the Lexus was $15-$25 more for a standard oil change (more oil) and a friend of ours owns a Mercedes and it costs her $100+ for an oil change.

If you have any questions about the IS250, I should be able to answer them for you maark808.

You're right lexus is just a name, I hope I won't have to pay as much for maintenance for my si . And that's pretty smart trading in your car before it reach 100k so you wouldn't need to change the timing belt etc...
