Updated 1/27-

Figured I'd add this to my build thread. More to come :) got rsx-s wheels podercoated white.

Here is my story:
Well I figured I finally start a build thread. I've had this car for about 6 months now, and I got a lot of plans for her. Gotta say I love my car :)

Here is my old car... Long story short, it was a stolen vehicle with a vin swap. After owning it for about 2 years and sinking about $10,000 into it it was confiscated by the police and destroyed :(

Since I went to the detective he was pretty cool about the situation, and let me keep all my parts. Here is the day she was taken to car heaven :[

So I went and put a down payment on a new car. Truth be told if the fr-s was available at the time I might not have gotten the si. But I'm super happy with it, I just love Hondas.
New car smell and everything. My very first brand new car!

Since I live in phx az there are a lot of great companies local to me that support and develop Honda aftermarket parts. I talked to the guys at Full Race and they used my car for the prototype of the catted down pipe. I was pumped to get one before most people and I also bought and had them install the exhaust. Quite a difference from stock and it made me very happy :)

After my exhaust I ordered both the corsport overlay for the steering wheel (which I didn't put on because it is cheap) and the J's racing emblem (although I have now found out the J's racing one is actually fake, it is much better quality). And I installed yellow 3K fogs.

Yellow fogs

Then my car sat like this for several months while I racked up miles on my new baby. Already at over 12,000 miles in only 6 months, boy I like driving ha.

Then for Christmas I decided to splurge on myself and finally ordered my suspension. Again supporting AZ by going Ksport. They ride like a dream and can go super low!

Still have at least an inch or more I could go.

I got some plans for her in the near future but I'm gonna leave you guys guessing and not reveal me until I have pics to post. I appreciate any feedback, but don't tell me how to build my car or what I should do, I got everything in mind already :) thanks guys, hope you like and hope it inspires someone on their build as well.

I really like those wheels.

Thanks, me too, lol. I've wanted these on a car for so long, I was going to go 5 lug conversion on my last civic to have them, so when I got the 9thgen it was a no brainer. It took forever to get them powder coated though.

Today I decided I would paint my engine cover red. Although there are many great write ups floating around the Internet and even this site about using vht paint or some version of high heat paint, I chose Krylon Fusion for plastic. I may regret this decision, but either way it was the easiest because it didn't require as much prep or baking. I basically cleaned it with soap and water, then dried it, then cleaned it with 91% isopropyl alcohol and applied 4 coats of pepper red (gloss) and 3 coats of clear satin. I let it dry for roughly 10-15 mins between coats. Here is my result

And a close up

Very nice. I was on the fence between the color of the car and red. After seeing this, I think I'll go with red.
