TPMS summer set and winter set

I want to keep my stock wheels as winter set and my new set as summer set. I have read alot about tpms crap here that it won't store 2 set of wheels. Here are my questions. 1. My new set seems not being activated. If I activate from the tire shop, my old set of sensors id is erased. Is this correct? 2. How can I get the old set of sensors id? I have them stored in my basement. Should I put the old set first to get the sensor id with quick set tool, then activate the new one to get another set of sensors id? 3. How about tires rotation on after market sensor and OEM sensors? Do I need to use the quick set tool to set it again? 4. Can deflation and inflation of my new set will activate without using the scan tool? My sensors are vdo redi sensor brought from discount tires. I know there are lots of information but I'm confused and hope some onecan clear me up. Thank you all

#2. I read that people use the quick set to keep two sets of sensors and set it when swapping a set of wheels.
The question is, how can I collect two set of sensors if I decide to buy the quick reset tool kit? How can I collect the old set of sensors as I store them in basement now?
Hope youunderstand what I'm trying to ask.

Think of it like a phone number. Each wheel has a different "phone number". The scan tool reads the phone number to each wheel. There are certain tpms that you can clone the original "phone number" in the oem wheels, and then they clone that number into the new tpms for the new wheels. Then when you swap winter/summer...all the numbers match from old to new sensors. It has no clue you swapped wheels. The scan tools and sensors have to be able to be programmed though. Many tpms are pre programmed with their own "phone number" that you can't change. So you have to program the system to read the new sensors.

You bought a tpms programming tool?

What I am thinking about to do is as follows.

1. Keep my new set of wheels with new sensors not being activated.
2. Get the ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool
3. Plug the tool kit into ODB2 port, and read the current sensors ID. If it works as I think, the tool still get and read my stock wheels' sensors ID from ECU memory.
4. Store this information as first set.
5. Stop by a dealer (either Honda or tire shop), pay, scan, and wake up the new sensors.
6. The new sensors ID are then replaced the old one in ECU.
7. Plug the tool kit into the ODB2 port again, then read the new sensors ID.
8. Store the new sensors ID as an second set.

If I am understood correctly, with the procedures above, when I swap either set of wheels, I can use this tool to "Reset" the sensors ID in ECU because this tool contains either set of wheels.

If this procedure works as above, I don't really mind buying this tool, which is only $150. It is because I am able to do it myself without getting robbed by a dealer.

Sorry this is probably completely too late for you, but yes, you are exactly correct. The original codes are still stored until the new codes are added. Discount Tire actually will reprogram the codes for free, so they are a good choice. If you did the exact items you said above, it would work. Then you use the tool to send the summer or winter codes as needed.
