Hey people, just thought I'd start a thread for my retrofit. I've acquired a set of headlights from singapore for my civic and bought a D2S HID kit from morimoto. Also I got some sockets for blinkers and a 7440 (bulb) connector for harness that I'll make for the turn signals.

No sir, there is a set on ebay but it's crazy expensive. I found a much more economical source by importing directly from asia around $350 including shipping.

That's super cheap! How hard would it be to get another set?

Perhaps....I already have Retros but the more I see these the more I like them.

Gotcha. I've made some progress with wiring. Getting closer to finally installing these. Thinking this saturday I'll do the install.

By the way, this may be a stupid question but I have to ask. Honda civic doesn't have headlight out warnings does it?

Not 100% on it but I don't think they do. You might get a faster flash on the blinker if one is out but I think that's about it.

Could you take an up close pic of the projector lens? or do you happen to know if it is a clear lens and not a Fresnel lens.

I don't think it's clear, but I'll take a pic once home.

They may actually be clear, but I'll let you be the judge of that. On a side note, i don't know how others made their turn signal harness but the way I wired it, will essentially enable me to have both the inside and outside bulbs flashing at the same time. They will be off when headlights are on. So I'll just have two turn signal bulbs in one headlight with no sidemarkers. Just a personal preference as I don't like sidemarkers.

Before and after pix. Install went smooth, wiring for HID ran through the core support so its not visible (Morimoto HD relay). Ballasts mounted on the bottom of headlights. Man these lights are bright, stock reflectors simply suck, I wish US and Canadian versions had proper headlights from factory.
