Oil life @50% with only 2100k miles?

My wife has a 2014 ex just purchased February 26 so today will be 2months. The oil life indicator in mid already says 50%. I personally feel that this is way too early because that means we only have 35 % until the Honda recommended oil change of 15%. My question is I thought the car would go at least 7000k miles between oil changes, is 2100k miles too soon?

1st thing I would do, is pull the dip-stick out and drip a drop in your palm to see what it looks like.

I've checked the dip stick. Oil level and color are both good.

I believe oil life is determined by a number of factors. Miles driven is only one part.
