On the pics...are they large in file size? I believe they need to be under 1MB in size. I typically reduce the size of the photos I take with my dSLR.

welcome to the site! If the images are over 3 megs they won't upload. You need to resize them, or upload them to an image host like imgur, photobucket, tinypic, imageshack etc.
