My buddy said we don't have to because it's flexible. He just pushed up and screwed the lip. We didn't cut the middle. Thank you

If he didnt heat gun or cut it, it has a chance to bend and either loosen the screws/ bend the bumper to the lip/ or hopefully bend the lip to the bumper. I would check on it every day or so for the first week to make sure its still secured. I had some people tell me theirs flew off after a few days on the highway going on 60.
