Is it lowered? Are you going to lower it? What's your budget for alignment and camber bolts/arms? There is a lot to consider.

You mentioned an 18x8.5 +40 instead of a +35. The +40 may give you enough room that you won't rub with a little camber and still run a proper size tire.

If you are getting 18" wheels you should stick to a 225/40/18 tire size. It will work best with that size wheel and be very close to the stock diameter no matter what wheel your car came with. Speedometer and odometer will be accurate and your spare tire will still fit if you get a flat.

NO. It will rub. And 225/50 is the wrong tire size. 225/40 is what you want.

I just installed a set 18x8.5 35 offset with the stock 225/40/18 and I rub on turns and big bumps, im at -1.3 camber in the rear and -0.8 in the front. Im getting my fenders rolled next week..

If he rubbed with a +35, the +30 will rub worse. The lower the number, the wheel moves towards the fender. The higher the number, the wheel moves towards the engine.

Get the +40 or +45 wheel you were looking at. If you want to be flush you will need the +35 and to run more neg camber than he was or do some fender work. You could also run the +40 and depending on tire, most likely not rub but also be pretty flush. +45 is stock offset so not flush but no rub and 0 camber needed.
