Hi guys sorry for making a new thread, but I tried searching and couldn't find it. I was wondering on how to take out the oem head unit for the non navi models.

I got the bazooka tube subwoofer that comes with a kind of ez wiring. It says all I need to do is hook it up to the battery and tap it into a speaker wire signal with the built in amp for the crossover.

Pull it from the sub wire, you will be able to control the bass settings from the imid.

any pics of your setup?

I will tomorrow, I simply tapped into the speaker signal wires coming from the OEM head unit, wired it through the glove box and the right door sills and into the trunk! Even the built-in amp from my subs only needed the wire going into/from the head unit.

@bobshur I have a LX so it does not come with a factory sub.

Installed! Pumps harder than a factory Si sub and takes very little room. Managed to air hang it with the straps that the kit provided. Only one little piece of exposed wiring in the rear right seat.

I liked my 10 inch powered bazooka tube,it really hit well, but I can't leave anything alone so I did an upgrade.i will say if you rear fired that it would sound better, but I think you want your trunk space,so it will be fine, but try it out some time, you won't believe the difference...

What's your setup now? And how did you strap your bazookas with rear firing?

I would put a small piece of black duct tape/electrical tape over the exposed wire to hide it a bit better. Nice job. A hanging sub. Never seen that before. Good idea to save trunk space.

Thanks! Will do when I get the tape.
@bobshur Wow I just tried rear firing and oh my it pumps harder! Haha now I'm stuck whether to hang it and save space or rear fire it for the sound.

My car shakes inside ( mirror, etc but my trunk is tight.i put a gasket on my license plate I made myself. I dyno matted my spare tire compartment and built a new floor for my trunk out of tempered mdf and completely covered it with dynomat. I have a Lloyd's custom may coming in a few days. The dynomat alone made it even tighter sounding, it was a pain in the *** to do but unlike the improvement and I can secure my box now, although I'm putting in the trunk brace after I get it and it comes back from pc, it too will be a brace for the box too.

I set the box further back against the rear seat,I just moved it down to see the stuff for the pic,I listen to hair band, metal, rock, country and eminem and a few other old school rappers dre,snoop,etc... I could drop it to 1 ohm and really pound but it sounds tight at 4 ohms at 350.
