I decide I'm going to replace the stock horn in the summer. The stock horn is like little chicken; nobody cares nor hears.

I research and notice either Honda Accord's horn or Hella Horn would be the best choice for my 2012 R18. My idea towards more to Honda Accord's horns. I found two from college hills honda and do not know which one sounds better and louder.

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

I've done the same thing. Your LX only has one horn, not two. So those kits linked aren't what you want.

I just went to my local Honda dealer in person and bought a single old Accord lowtone (06-10') horn. It was like 15$ and took 2 minutes to install. Much better

There is one behind the fog light area which requires removing the bumper, and there is one at the top by the radiator. The 2012 lx diagram on CHH parts shows the placement as well.
I've always heard LX has one horn only...
Mmmm......

Collegehillshonda confirmed and you can see it in the diagram as well. There is usually a high and low horn. One for the horn and one for the door lock chirp.
@webby
these steps also apply for LX?

High horn around the radiator and low horn around fog light?

I got the parts # from @CollegeHillsHonda for the Accord Horn upgrade kit.

I don't know about that @webby. I have a '12 EX and there is no horn in that location. Perhaps they started adding it on the newer cars but on the 2012 that is only on the Si. All other have a single upper horn.

The door chirp is simply a short pulse on the horn.

@Twitch
You replaced it with high tone? Is it correct?

Thanks

I used the low. Then that got fried by water.... Replaced with the high. Then replaced with the sport horn that CHH had on sale recently.

Why did you go with the sport at the end? Is it better actually? I asked college hills Honda and they said it doesn't work for civic.

I know the hella horn is popular with WRXs. I was planning on doing that to mine, and then I sold her. They are LOUD

I did the hella horns first and they were very loud. High pitch but loud as hell. The only problem I had was the door lock. It made this pathetic toot. I should've recorded it.
