Honda to recall 936,000 vehicles worldwide


TOKYO -(MarketWatch)- Honda Motor Co. (7267.TO) said Monday it will recall a total of 936,000 vehicles worldwide due to a problem with power windows.

Regions affected by the recall include Japan, the U.S., China and Europe, among other markets, a Honda spokeswoman said.

The company will recall 216,193 units of its Fit small car and other models in Japan, and 255,766 units of its Fit and other models in China.

In the U.S., Honda will recall 80,111 units of its CR-V model and 5,626 units of its CR-Z model.

In one recall, the company said a design flaw can allow residue to window cleaners to accumulate inside the door, which can degrade the main power window switch’s electrical contacts and possibly cause a fire.
