Ok, so I'm pretty sure I know how to fix this problem but I really just want some confirmation and/or input on this...
I have xentec HIDs after like two months, the driver bulb popped..I put another bulb in when I got home; same thing happened. I ordered two sets of bulbs from DDMTuning plugged them in, and the driver side still popped. I got around to taking the ballast off checking it then tried another bulb, and of course...the bulb popped. I then tried another ballast, and what do ya know..same thing. Checked fuses, watt checked everything possible, and stuck my OEM bulbs back in and they worked fine.
After exhausting attempts to fix this, I finally just ordered a whole new HID kit, this time from DDMTuning; $41 shipped so I'm not losing much if it happened again. I got everything hooked up just like before and turned on the lights.......guess what, yeah.
So here's what I think it is, but again, I want some input. I am not running a relay with these. I used this same set on my 07 coupe and had them for 5 years with no issues what so ever. Also, I ordered the 35w ballasts and not the 55w. I know that the OEM bulbs are 51w 12v...most likely, I need the 55w right?
Is my car putting out more wattage than the 35w ballasts can handle?
Why is it only the driver side?
Thank you all in advance, and sorry for such a stupid post but its really annoying the heck out of me that ive gone through nearly 5 HID bulbs, two ballasts, and and a new HID kit..
