Ya, but these things are measured to be so snug that they won't be going anywhere.What they lack to reach perfection is some grommets for the floor hooks

They're great as they are for sure. The mat itself is adhering to the carpet as well so it is good. For the Civic we need the plastic grommets with the oval opening to accommodate the turn to lock approach they have. Did not see any of those available anywhere.

I've got the Honda All-Season mats and live in Maine... they do their job but I'm not 100% happy with them. The area around the trunk/gas door lever seems to still get pretty dirty. For the price though, I'm happy. I would like to get the HFP mats for the summer though.

Ya, you know I didn't really thing about the mat might have a bump in it where that turn grommet thing is. I may have to cut a small hole there so it sits flat. Will need to check that out.

Got the badges today. 
I haven't ironed them on yet. I might trace the badges and then shave the rectangle into the carpet so that the badges will be flush.

That would look good. Just be careful that the material won't fray when you cut it.

^what andre said. You may find that cutting/shaving into that will cause threads to pull/fray further and further over time. Maybe do some test cuts on another piece of scrap to see how it reacts to wear/vacuuming etc?

So, turns out you just put a piece of paper over top of the badge and iron them on. There is a plastic type substance that melts under heat.

the nylon or whatever in the carpet most likely is melting...

No, under the badge you can see a shiny plasticky film that melts when heated.

ahh... well your carpet may do some melting as well. We had an incident with an iron/carpet quite a few years ago. It didn't "burn" the carpet, but it left a decent mark. Essentially singed the carpet in a spot and left an area where all of the fibers shrunk if you will? It was a berber industrial type carpet.

You might see if your seamstress can sew the patches on...... If nothing else you could hand sew e'm ....... and if you're planning on cutting the patches edges they need to be sewn anyway. If her machine can do those mate edges her sewer can handle the patches(if it will fit under the machines arm.
The Si badge on my driver's mat came off in just a few months and I saw that they use some kind of glue from the factory. I just hand sewed it back on, pretty easy to do and no need to worry about it coming off

Just grab and push the needle in one side, then grab it and pull it through on the other side
