its gonna be time for tires eventually so i already started looking around. anyone use these and have problems? they seem to have good ratings just wondering if anyone has put them on an si yet

well i live in philly, we havent gotten much snow this winter, i wont need tires til after winter but i dont plan on having to replace them again for a while, i might just try out some all seasons for the stock wheels and get some new rims and tires for the car.

Snow is not the only reason you shouldn't be using a summer tire in the winter. Summer tires will get really hard once the temps drop below about 40-50º.

If you don't want to swap stuff each winter I'd look at your all season options.

Great tire for the money, I got the Yokohama YK580 and I love the traction, and they ride great too. Ask @Nix the man is a tire GURU

Living in Philly(or any big city in the snow belt), the question is, how often do I get out of town to work the tyres hard enough to be thinking about having a set of open road(track) grip tyres. and how much is in city, stop start, slow city corners.
Even living in a small town(that does get snow a few times a winter, and I do take mine into the back roads a few times a week to play, I'm still doing well with all seasons. I did replace the ones that came with my car earlier than they needed. I got a much better quality tyre, which had high ratings on everything but(ice 1 out of 10, was an 8, where it rates 10's & 9's on all the other factors).
You can go to a web site like "The Tire Rack" and choose a tyre you like and check the things it's good and bad for.
I usually go for ratings that are pretty much 10's, with some 8 & 9's allowable, Mine were about $135 a tyre and about 40/50k life for wear. Road noise dropped, and they are good on wet or snow, and have good grip in the turns dry/wet.

that's my issue, still havent gotten wheels because I just cannot decide on the size I want. If I go 18 it will fill in my wheel gap nicely, but still just undecided all together....what wheels you gettin?

as i think more about it im probably gonna wait and get new wheels then get nice tires for those. im just gonna keep my stocks as winter rims because i wont want to destroy my new wheels.

i take a lot of curvy roads to work at both my jobs so im always out having fun, i dont want to get a tire that will ruin the way it takes turns now (which i love)
