I seen on here that there is a factory amp under the drivers side dash..... I'm doing my system in a few days does anyone take this out or leave it in? Cause I'm putting a 4 channel amp and let the factory front tweeters run off deck power? Let me know what you guys did

I'd pull the factory amp out. Are you powering the front door speakers off the new amp? Or are you powering the rears and a sub... or? What's your setup?

It's not going to hurt anything being in the car, because you'll be eliminating that from the new radio wiring.

Tried to keep it in. Tried to integrate it into system. Ended up taking it all out. Trying to understand what you are using the 4 channels for if you are running tweeters off the deck and then coaxials? i get it if you are bridging the rear channels for a sub. Did you consider going with components? With the tweeters and then the coaxial's, you'll end up with 4 tweeters and 2 mids except the two stock tweeters will not sound as good as your coaxials.

I believe he's running new front/rear speakers off the 4 channel (minus the stock tweeters). Then a mono amp for just a sub

exactly right going to run the 4 coax off the 4 channel amp and leave the factory tweeters run off deck power... take factory sub out and run a 12" on a mono amp

I get the 4 coas off the amp, just not sure why you would keep the stock tweeters in at all but hey, looks good. You mind sharing which coax's you're going with?

9th with premium audio. I even have the imd input and output wire too. just to lazy to copy/cut from honda data.

Nice. I wonder if I could hook a line out converter to the sub wire pre amp and get a signal that's flat and isn't eq'ed or cutoff below certain frequencies. Or would differential balanced inputs negate that method?

That's a great question. I know you'll find out with all of the research you've been doing so far. I think you're on to something bulkybear!
On a side note, is that the same stereo setup that's in the EX model? I'm wondering because mine doesn't have a subwoofer, but if it has the output from the head unit, I may be able to hook a LOC to it for an aftermarket amp and sub. I may have to pull my unit out to inspect it...

If it doesn't have a sub search for a factory amp. I don't know for a fact but I suspect yours is powered by the head and doesn't have an amp. If that's the case then you probably couldn't get a flat signal without changing the head. All my research points to signal shaping being done at the amp and the signal from the head appears to be flat and quite clean. This would only be the case with the premium audio systems done though as the base systems seem to be a straight head to speaker connection. I could be wrong though.
