Hello guys, I have bought the 2012 Si Axle back for dirt cheap, but I was wondering if it fits the 2013 r18? All the comments or tips on how to make it work is very appreciated. Thanks. :clapping:

I think axle back fits with a little bend of the exhaust hangars, because of the exhaust cutout in the Si's bumper

This thread has a similar question for a 2012 and might be useful :

My concern would actually be the gasket and the bolt area. Not sure if they will fit right on plus I believe I need a new gasket? Or can I re-use my r18 gasket?

Yep. Buy an Si gasket. It will fit into the flange on the muffler nicely but not the midpipe. It sticks out a little. Then when you tighten everything down it will conform and with heat over time it will seal up nicely. I did not have a leak with mine and I know there are a couple other guys running the same thing. I think nat3d does.

I'm not sure how tight the bolts will let you get it, I spaced mine with a couple 5mm washers just to make sure there was tension on the spring bolts. No rattling. Also bend the tangs to get the fitment near the bumper perfect. You should be able to reuse your rubber hanger. If the rubber hanger does not fit, let me know and I think I have an extra off of a 2013 Si I can mail you. The part numbers between the Si and non-Si are different.

Take pics and post your install if you don't mind! Let us know how it works out!

Ohh, so I need 2012 si gasket. Yeah the hanger I probably need to bend them a little bit to have the tip dropped to look and fit better. Do I get the gasket directly from Honda? also roughly how much they cost ?

Thanks

Yeah order from collegehillshonda.com they are a vendor and if you set up an account, send them a PM on here. There is a discount on some parts. You can probably reuse your hanger and bend the tangs but I would recommend a new gasket for fitment and also since they can get damaged when you take the parts off. Depending on if its welded itself to the midpipe or the muffler.

Lemme find you some links...

And possibly a couple washers from Home Depot.

Check the price with shipping. If it's close to $30 maybe see if the local dealer will come down a little bit.

Eh sometimes you can't crank the spring bolts down enough with the Si axle back so spacing them with just a couple washers works to tighten it up enough. Check and see if its the springs or something else though.

It doesnt fit guys. Its way off. The bolts that hold the muffler to the existing pipe. Si bolts from centre to centre are 4.5 and the r18 is 3.5 centre to centre

The spring bolt between the muffler flange and the mid-pipe is the same on both years and models. Part #'s are the same. It should fit just fine. Take a pic and show us what isn't working?

Under exhaust, muffler, it's #9 on the LX and #10 on the Si diagrams. It's listed as BOLT-B FLEXIBLE JOINT.

This is the Si diagram, it's #10

2013 LX:

Hmm I forgot to take any pics. The only one I have was this as you can see the si are just bigger. The mid pipe that attaches to the muffler is actually even smaller than the r18 muffler. It fit the r18 but definitely not the si muffler.

Ah so the flange doesn't line up? Thats interesting since I know at least one guy on here has an 8thgen Si on his 2012+ R18. I'm very surprised by that.

Yeah it's not off by just a bit, it's quite a bit lol. Oh well I'm sad that it doesnt fit :( not much options right now for 2013 r18. Only Tsudo catback($300) and Takeda axleback.(almost $400) sigh :/
