If it's the same as the LX model, its just an open hole in the left side lower in the dash, where all Honda's have been forever. My '89 accord had a flip down tray, same with the girlfriends '06 Element. I wish that they would have had a flip down tray, as when you put change in my '12, sometimes it makes noise.

I like my coin holder the way it is......... I keep my garage door opener clipped to it, and use it for pennies, I put my silver(if you can call it that) coins in the hole/tray in the doors arm rest(helps to keep them separate in drive throughs)....... I put non-slip shelf/counter/drawer material cut to fit in each tray including the one in front of the shifter(no coins there) glasses and such.

I was just going to say, you need the non slip rubber mat stuff to keep the coins from coming out

The coin holder to the left of the steering wheel is shallow and needs to be emptied matt, or not. I keep a bucket(small) on my work bench and dump my coins in that, and when it fills up I take it to the change machine and usually get about $50 every month.

Before I took off this morning I felt around inside the hole and noticed three groves in it, not very defined but its there. Thanks everyone for the help.

The 2012 does not have a coin holder. The shallow cubby to the left of the steering wheel used to be used for my cell phone, but it's more shallow than it used to be, rendering it useless for my iPhone.

They added the coin holder back in for 2013, according to their website. My 2006 Si had one in the center console that worked nicely, and so did my 2010 EX-L. They also removed the rubber inserts that were in my 2006 Si's storage cubbie that helped with grip, and that was even gone in my 2010. Even the bin in front of the shifter isn't as deep as before, so things go sliding around corners, at least in an Si haha!

Come to think of it, they removed the storage cubbie by the power outlet above the shifter for 2012 period, and also put it back in for 2013, this time with a cover. There was a user on this forum that created a nice rubber insert with materials from Lowes and cut it perfectly for the storage spaces in the 2012. I'd totally have bought a set from her if she sold them.
