Honda should of had these pre-installed to begin with off the line.
Acyually, you'll find that most ppl don't want them, due to their personal opinions on wanting the less is best look.
I might not have had them put on if the dealer hadn't already installed them before purchase, But I feel safer "chip-wise" with them. Even though I park to avoid same from happening.

Instead of starting a new thread, would someone who has a sedan with the body side moldings mind measuring where on the front and rear doors each sit? Just a quick measurement from the bottom of each door to the bottom and top of each molding would be great. Someone opened their door into my car and I have a decent size chip and appears to be in the vicinity of where the moldings would adhere. I also want to see if a small dent would be covered as well.

I have a Coupe, but looking at mine and the 4 doors they are real close to the same height. So I'll check mine at the rear part of my door to give you a idea.

Bottom of door to bottom of strip - 11" ; B O D to T O S - 13"

Thanks! They do look close. I'll measure in the morning.

Just went outside for a quick measurement.

Front door: Front leading edge: 27.5cm, Rear edge: 29.8cm
Rear door: front leading edge: 30cm, rear edge 32cm

All of them from the bottom of the moldings to the bottom edge of the door. Cheers.

Thank you very much! Would you say the mondings themselves are about 1.5" in height when installed?

Hope so,

Before you buy them, park the car next to a wall and check the height where your door strikes it, so you can a reference if the moldings are going to be of any use. For example, the gen 8 sedan the moldings are installed on the bottom of the door, because that´s the place that strikes a wall first.

The moldings are expensive, so maybe you would like to consider a paint job if the moldings finish in an odd place in your door.
