This is another beasty fun little drive. I've made the drive once both ways recently. Just outside of Troy, NY Route-2 becomes a tight twisty almost mountain road. Just past North Adams there is an actual 180 degree real hairpin turn that has a guard rail next to a cliff. If you fail to negotiate the turn you will die. This is after a long climb up the side of a large hill. This road is wicked. I tried to get a cam of it but it was too dark both times. Im hoping to make another run soon. If anyone lives in the area and is looking for a spirited run the section before Williamstown, through the Taconic Trail Park, is a 4 mile up and 4 mile down climb of tight switchbacks.
Troy is just a bit outside Albany. Charlemont is a small country town. Not much in between.
