I'd lease an EV tomorrow if they'd let me. :sadbanana:
You could get with a dealer in NY/NJ to lease maybe? It says they're only making around 40 per month and you need to be on a waiting list.

Availability
Honda will lease the Fit EV to approximately 1,100 customers over a two-year period to residents of California, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland and Rhode Island.

Ready to lease the Fit EV?

The Fit EV is available on a limited basis, with continued production of about 40 vehicles per month. Vehicles are allocated regionally and distributed based on demand from dealership-maintained wait lists.

1. To get on the wait list, find an authorized Fit EV dealer to walk you through the process.
2. Dealers will receive Fit EVs based on local demand.
3. Keep in contact with your dealer to stay updated on your status. Please be aware that the wait time may be up to several months.

I'm a resident of PA, and from the way they're phrasing things, reads like it's some kind of experiment anyway. Doesn't look like it's worth the hassle.

I realize that, but you're close enough to ny/nj it seems possible. I understand a lease is a little different, but I've bought 3 or 4 cars out of state. I can't really see the dealer caring. They'd just require you bringing it back at the end of the lease. It'd be interesting to call one of the dealers to see what they say.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. The gentleman I spoke with said it would be no problem to lease it to me. I'm now waiting for one of their "product speciallists" to contact me. They want $500 (fully refundable), then I'll go on a waiting list.

If you talk to them again, you should ask what the waiting list is currently like. If they are only making ~40/month.... seems like it could take a while, unless there aren't a lot of users signed up/waiting.

The guy at the dealer said he'd email info... hasn't contacted me at all. I told them I wanted something in writing that my deposit would be fully refundable, then i'd give it to them.

I guess I can try a different dealer. :pout:
