I think somebody already recommended this but soak ur bolts with some kind of penetrating oil and bang them a bit the night before. If u don't have air tools and are doing the install on jacks trust me it'll help a ton. Those 3 exhaust bolts in the middle were an absolute pain. Also the lower mount bolt on the top right. Good luck man and hope ur knee is feeling better.

Will do, going to give all the bolts a good spray the night before. I have an impact wrench, so hopefully that will help the process move more smoothly, as well as a fresh tune from VitViper to accommodate the new mods. Thankfully the knee is better, at least good enough to walk around and I don't have the patience to wait any longer.

So we started install of everything. But we hit a road block with the RMM. I cannot get it lined up, and it looks like the motor may have shifted, we cannot get a clean line up to screw everything in so were at a stand still right now, any suggestions?IMG_1610.JPG IMG_1608.JPG IMG_1604.JPG

Ur gonna have to move the engine around. I had my uncle use a huge pry bar to move the engine until the holes lined up. Also used a bottle jack to raise it a bit. Wasn't easy and took a while.

We got it pretty lined up but i think the thread is a little beat up on the left side on the female end. Anything I can do to help that out? Should I just muscle it through? I dont want to wreck it

Wow! It's times like this I wish I would have said screw it and bought the si anyways. Oh well, I enjoy my ex. It's been an awesome daily driver for the...2 years I've had it...? Either way, can't wait to get back from Europe to start on wheels

I am not recommending or suggesting it but I did the same thing. I thought my socket wrench was gonna snap when I was tightening it lol. But that was on my top mount. The rmm I have on mine is the old design. @Nix or @Dar-Dar can hopefully butt in.

So we got the downpipe in but it is literally touching the heatshield as it runs beneath the car. Its not even hanging after we screwed the bolts in. SHould we wait to screw the downpipe on until the exhaust is in?

The downpipe seems too short or something, its literally resting against the undercarriage heat shield. Something doesnt seem right. Is there a possibilty the part is incorrect?

Everything is in, and she's running. This setup is sweet. There is a almost plastic-smell coming from the engine bay. I dont see anythjing melting or smoking, so Im wondering if this is all the new parts burning off their coatings. That or a good amount of coolant leaked out when doing the bypass for the SRI, so maybe its the smell of that burning off the motor. Any thoughts?

Anyway the car runs great! No rattle, great sound, just awesome. Thanks for all the help! I could not have done this without this forum haha

Ah, well, since you've probably already got it... but...

I would say take a jack with a piece of wood or hockey puck on it and gently apply pressure to the oil pan and take some weight off the mounts. It makes it a lot easier to align the engine and trans mounts that way. You don't want to break the pan or try to lift the whole engine. Just take enough pressure off to be able to line things up. You may have to loosen the upper mounts enough to easily move the engine and trans to get the new one in place.

Remember that the OEM mounts allow for a lot of movement. They may be "torqued" out of alignment with just how the car was parked. Taking the weight off the mounts should allow you to line everything up. Then TQ them back down and let the jack off.
