Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

Very mild bolt ons, just rv6 downpipe and tune. all other mods just arent worth the money IMO (diminishing returns) for my car which I also daily drive (like a lot of honda guys). Exhaust sounds great but isn't annoying or loud and doesn't rattle. I'm still trying to figure out how to pass state...

Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

I'm thinking max 1" lower is about all I would want, just to close the wheel gap so the gate workers stop pointing me to the rally track. I've always gone with PCA (porsche guys) because a close friend has a 911 in the same run group. They are a real mature group, everyone is really helpful...

Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

Not really going through tires in 1 weekend but maybe 2 to 3 weekends (each weekend is ~250 min on track) before they start to wear to the point where I need to replace them for the 100 tread lifers. Haven't considered 17s but assuming they would clear the calipers that would lower my chance I...

Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

So far I'm still new but have 300 laps at VIR in various configurations with the Si. I've been running the falkens 225/40 18 on the stock 29 pound wheels, which I think probably suck for the track and are a pain to take off to bleed/swap brakes. The falkens I can feel them slipping the longer...

Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

Yeah I contacted technical support at progress for the sway and they quickly told me it would NOT fit my car. Was a bit surprised. Ok so red shift would be able to come up with something possibly? I saw they mentioned with their coilovers that I would have to cut the mounting area which i...

Disappointed with aftermarket options for 2015 si for track. What to do?

Ok so I am fairly satisfied with my braking and power setups, but I have nothing for suspension/handling and it is really holding me back at the track, obviously. I have a 2015 si sedan. I had/have some falken azenis tires which I thought were high performance but they get greasy after a few...

    Weird brake pad wear

I track my car pretty hard and experience this often, front and back. When I replaced my front pads 2 days ago the right front outer pad was at about 10% life and my rotor was smoking after one lap. The inner pad still had 40% life. Very weird. Happened to my rears as well, I can see the inner...

DIY How to install a RV6 2012+ Civic Si Bellmouth Downpipe

I know you probably figured it out by now, but for the record you have to remove the cowl and heat shield to access the o2 sensor unless you are a wizard. It is possible, but it involves a lot of feeling around. If you had a lift it might make sense to try that way but I couldn't do it.

DIY Full-Race 3" Downpipe and Catback Exhaust System

The wipers were kind of tricky for me but then all of the sudden they just came loose without me even doing anything it seemed. Just light pressure it all it takes and then poof they come off!

DIY 2012+ Civic Si Braided Steel Brake Lines and Clutch Line Install

Just wanted to add that the 12mm bolt on the brake line bracket is a mother f*cker. Its like God himself torqued it down. I had no trouble with anything else but please make sure you use your liquid wrench on that thing for hours

Is it worth tuning for 98 octane

My guess is probably not but vit offers an option for race gas tunes. I couldn't find anything on line saying yay or nay. Also what would be the process for this. If I have to be running 98 octane while tuning (my guess) then this is definitely not worth it.

    Consequences of "off road only"

So I may or may not have "off road use only" parts on my card. mainly exhaust but also intake and tune. important notes: I do have a cat on my exhaust and am still under warranty and am also tuned. I'm also about to take my car to the dealership for an oil change (I get maybe 2 to 3 oil...

    A/C Tax on Engine Power

I have a question. Does the compressor/AC disengage immediately when you turn the fan to the off setting and / or when you hit the AC button off? Also on fuel saving websites, the tip they give about AC is that it can sap your MPG at low speeds so waiting until at highway speed and switching it...

Help me pick my first engine mod

I think the stock rear bar on the 15 civic si is 20mm. This is a great thread though. It should probably be stickied because it basically covers everything I learned in months of research.

    Rally Red SI

Nice! Going big from the start. If you're going to the track dont forget sway bar. As for wheels, im hunting for a low weight but well made wheel for track use myself. I like some of the OZ racing options personally.

    Nate's 15 focus st1 build

Yeah as far as he was telling me, the biggest gains are from FMIC and exhaust. BoV might hurt it. I know a recirculation kit was stock on the cobalt and BOV was not recommended. Although it could be different with the ecoboost.

    Nate's 15 focus st1 build

Yeah I think that mod list would get you there. I had a 300whp cobalt and I loved that thing. Very similar to the ST. As per my username I obviously miss the torque. My cobalt was an absolute monster at track. I highly recommend nitto NT-05s or 01s if you have pure track wheels. I never lost...

Just bought my 3rd Civic SI in a row!

Welcome, im in the 15 sedan club as well. I am about to order a downpipe as well but cant figure out what I want/need. I didn't get a CAI, yet, I just did some airbox mods and im going to see how that goes. I took my stock 15 si out to VIR a while back for a shakedown. I was utterly surprised...

This embarrassing to anyone else ?

Based on my times at the track, these results dont surprise me at all with an experienced driver. The GTi surprises me a little bit; I consider them pretty intimidating to drive on the track without more experience. The WRX is in a different league honestly, as is its price. The cooper S stock...
