Soo with the supposedly rumored 10gen civic being spied I wanted to get everyone's expectation on what Honda will bring to the table for this next generation civic. Do you guys think honda will play it safe and just do a redesign with the same motor ? Or will the USA development team swing the bat and come out with something much more aggressive? I personally think this next gen Si will be turbo charged, fwd, with a much meaner look  closer to what the euro type r is going to look like minus it being hatchback. And I think it will also be a little more luxurious in the meaning of a little less plastic ..more leather etc. What do you guys think?...I know we can all agree on thing and that is honda has been playing it safe for awhile so maybe it's time for a major change :wink1:.....ohh and this Si will be closer to 35k+

Reports point to a turbocharged engine across the board for the next civic. I would not anticipate much price change at all. Reports of a turbocharged Acura ILX have already surfaced as well. Seeing as how they currently share a lot of parts, it's likely to be very similar.

What do you think the power output will be like? Same 205hp but with more torque?

The 2.0-liter turbo will debut first, in mid-2015, in a European-market Civic given the Type R designation. Matsumochi said Honda is studying U.S. use.

1.5 is the new 1.8
The 1.5-liter is expected to hit the market in 2016, probably early in the year, and is geared toward North America and Asia, Matsumochi said.
Honda is considering use in such vehicles as the Acura ILX and Honda Civic and Accord, but nothing is decided, he said. "It has potential for a wide range of vehicles," he said.

The 1.5-liter engine is seen as a replacement for 1.8-liter powerplants. Compared with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine, Honda said, the 1.5-liter turbocharged unit provided 15 percent better fuel economy and 45 percent better torque.

We know the 2 liter turbo is good for at least 280hp. They said it would have at least that from the factory, but no official numbers have been released. They could detune it for a non-R civic si & make it whatever hp rating.

Realistically, I think the new civic si would have about 240hp/200TQ. I figure the Accord V6 would still have to be faster than the top model civic so its probably gonna be a detuned Type R engine or a different variant. (like the K20A and K20z3)
