Here is one example
Controller is not very fun. It will do if no other choice but night and day difference to even a cheapo wheel.
Lately I am honing my times on Suzuka with the Indy racer or the Williams. It is very cool the more I drive the more I learn how to control the tail over steering before it happens. Took me a while to be able to take some corners at tire limit with the Williams. The more i play iRacing the less I enjoy the rest even GT. I love how the brake bites more at higher speeds, almost foot down with no issues and then the wheels start locking once the car is under 100 kmh, depends on the car, this is something that either Forza or GT5 do not properly reproduce.
Saw some initial demo videos for the Occulus Rift on iracing and I can hardly wait for it![]()
I came close to getting a wheel for the XBOX, but meh I do not think I would ever be satisfied with Forza over iRacing.
The F1 car is great I never messed around with Indy car much. I tend to drive the open cockpit cars way better than closed cockpit. I honestly prefer a "Hood View" instead of the forced cockpit on iRacing. Nonetheless, with iRacing if I spin out or smash a wall I generally know why I did, and can learn from it.
I am really looking forward to the not so much talked about Civic Euro R they are supposed to be releasing.. That would be my car to stick with if it was released.
I have an iRacing buddy that has the Occulus Rift I think he really likes them. Neat technology.
I used to feel the same way about the hood view but I can buy the argument that in real racing the only view you get is the cockpit view. Honestly i got used to it and it does pose the challenge of not seeing the curb as well as in the hood or nose view just like real life.
They have the HPD which is not bad, but of course I would love an iRacing rendition of the Civic, I would love to have the one I drive in the real world to do some things I cannot do on the road but nothing is perfectAnd again if you like the F1 the Indy is not far behind, it is actually nimbler and wilder but not as fast, or it does not feel like it.
I was so tempted to get the dev kit for the Occulus Rift but it is lower res and eventually the higher one will come as an official release. I feel like wasting money to get something lower res for not so much time (I hope).

Here's a link to the controller I'm using(just got it)..... it's set up for heal-toe(with your right thumb).
It's for PlayStation 2/3(maybe one).

Absolutely, There's a switch on the bottom where we can switch the G/B to R2 & L2 but unfortunately they work as on/off(tried it), but the top works progressively, and works like it should. With the steering we can use either the wheel or the toggle, I'm liking the wheel on pavement, and toggle on dirt. That's interesting, should be much better than the regular controller. Does the gas and brake have more travel? the standard one is almost on or off.
