Ended up getting a very small run. It's small enough that it shouldn't be a problem though.

First thick coat of primer has been put on. I'll probably do a 400 grit wet sand in an hour or so to eliminate some scratching. Two more thick coats of primer after that then it's on to the base coats

Sanded original paint and got rid of all the imperfections. This is the cover that had the chipping:

This is the other cover I decided to repaint. Notice the line? I didn't notice before, but the paint along that line was raised above the rest of the paint

The second and last two thick coats of primer are on. Paint smell made it into the house so I'm done for the night while the air purifiers run.

After wet sanding my second two thick coats of primer this morning I realized I used 220 grit instead of 400 grit... FAIL! Two more thick coats:

Thanks I'm happy with them so far. After curing for 24 hours it's time for the clear coat and some polish.

I haven't put it on yet. When I get home from work later I'm going to hit the covers with 3-5 coats of clear.

Five coats of clear; three light, two heavy. I'll let them cure for another 24 hours and finally do a 2000 grit wet sand and polish
