Toyota GT-86 Production Images & Video

It's no secret that the Toyota FT-86 will finally make its production-spec debut next week at the Tokyo Motor Show, and ahead of that, the automaker's UK office has released the first official photos and some initial specs. In Europe, the car will officially be called the Toyota GT 86. In Japan, however, the car will simply be called 86.

Cutting right to the chase, here are the specs that are now official, from the Toyota UK announcement. Obviously, there's more to come:
  • 2.0-liter boxer with D4-S injection (direct and port injected)
  • 197 hp @ 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) @6,600 rpm
  • 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions
  • 17-inch wheel/tire package standard
  • 4,240mm (167 in.) long, 1285mm (50.6 in.) high, 2,570mm (101 in.) wide
  • 53:47 front-to-rear weight distribution
  • 475mm (18.7 in.) center of gravity
As demonstrated in the photos, everything is basically in line with what we've seen so far in the various leaked materials. So, start getting excited. In addition to the sharp styling outside, the interior looks the business, and the "86" fender logo is just plain cool. The GT 86 goes on sale in the UK next June.

Looks good...sounds even better.

unimpressed ken is unimpressed

Ken has a point. The styling seems very "Toyota bland". I'll rather take the Genesis coupe over this car.

For supposedly having such a low center of mass, doesnt the rear shots make it look like its really high up in the air?

I actually love it... Might have to get one to replace the Civic...

For some reason I thought the BRZ would of had more changes....

The toyota actually looks more aggressive. Now as long as they don't release it in some "old man" color like beige or FL retiree taupe.

I like the front bumper of the toyota over the subaru in these pics...

I'm kind of surprised they didn't put any radio controls/cruise, or anything on the wheel.

TRD Goodies.....

We’ve got good news for those wanting to make a Toyota GT 86 their own, a stand-out coupe that won’t get lost in the parking lot. The Japanese automaker has announced that it will show a bunch of perforce parts under a dedicated TRD line for the car at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon.
The Toyota in-house tuning division has come up with a fresh aero package that adds side skirts with that give the 86 a grounded look, a front spoiler that fits onto the stock bumper and a rear apron that make room for a quad exhaust system. There’s also a boot lid spoiler and a fresh set of 18-inch lightweight alloys.

On the performance side, you can have fully adjustable suspension for your racing needs, front and rear anti-roll bars, a front strut, additional cross-bracing and a stabilizer set and a six-piston front and four-piston rear braking system.

Looks good in pearl white :drooling:

Looks nice in the pearl...I agree. Maybe an aftermarket company can get rid of the lower lights in the center and install another 2 exhaust tips...for a grand total of 6.
