I wasn't really looking to trade, but after a lot of thought and a good salesman I've decided to trade my awesome '12 DB Si sedan for an equally awesome '13 DB Si sedan. I was that close to getting the orange but blue won out again. I pick it up tomorrow. I stopped by the dealer yesterday to have a look when they received it. Just a bit excited.

How much more are you paying?

I changed to biweekly payments, lower interest rate and it worked out to about $38 extra a month.

I won't say anything. We'll see how many people around notice.

I really do like the '12. I can't really say anything bad about it. I didn't have the issues that a lot of the others had/have with the car. The '13s sure are nice on the inside though.

It's booked for tint next week. Starting over.

I picked up the new Si today. It didn't disappoint. The weather did, but not the car.

The biggest difference is the sound deadening. I always shift by the sound of the engine. I'm going to need to readjust. I cant believe how much more quiet it is. The quality of the material is much better but that's been mentioned already. The clutch feels a bit different but that could be just me, and the steering feels lighter.

I'll post more pictures when I get it cleaned up. Here's one at the dealer when I picked it up.

You willing to tear some panels out to see where and what was used for the sound deadening?

I'm a bit hesitant taking a car apart when it's that new. Maybe after I've had it for a few weeks...... Whatever they did made a huge difference.

I am really curious to know what they have done in order to try and replicate it to some extent.

2012 Si Coupe 2874 lbs
2013 Si Coupe 2943 lbs

They added 69 lbs with all the changes. I am curious how much of this is due to sound proofing.

I didn't notice how much heavier the 2013 is. Geez.

Bigger spoiler. More accents pieces/chrome. More tail/reverse lights. Non-plasticy interior and/or dash pieces. And sound proofing.

There is a big plastic trim piece along the front of the engine bay that the 12 didn't have. Another small thing that I've noticed is that the dead pedal/foot rest sits higher. My red HFP mat lifts slightly in that spot now because of it. I checked my Weathertechs and they still fit. Tighter than before though.

I forgot about the plastic cover...which doesn't fit the '12! You mean pseudo dead pedal as it is now a small plastic piece molded into the carpet?

I think you'll find considerable sound deadening material added under the carpet. I have to admit as one DPB owner to another that the '13 DBP Si looks stunning from behind - I think its the additional red reflectors. I'd like to see how the chrome holds up in our environment.

Yes that. I'll see if I can get a picture in the morning. I got scared when my red mat didn't fit quite right. I didn't want to buy new Weathertechs. They fit though. False alarm.

Here is a shot of the dead pedal and the red HFP mats. You'll notice that they lift a bit in front of the deal pedal. Please ignore the dirt. I guess they missed a few places when they cleaned it up. I'll be looking after that today. I'm guessing the HFP mats from the '13s will fit fine. Something to keep in mind when ordering the mats from now on.

I took a picture of the small rubber mats that some of the members have ordered for the console, doors etc. The one for the front console doesn't quite fit anymore. I replaced it with one of the spares that I had. It looks ok.

Webby, I don't know if you want to move this to another section in the forums that compares the '12s and '13s. I'll continue to update as I notice the smaller changes.

Two more things I noticed today. The lugs are shorter and the map lights are different bulbs than the '12s. I guess I'll be ordering new LEDs.
