What are the chances of damage after ~ 20 miles?

Hi, all.

I blew a tire on the way in to work this morning going through a heavy construction area (GRRrrrrr). Threw the spare on and drove about 20 miles to work going mostly around 35-40 mpr but never getting over 45. Didn't remember until half way through the day that I should have taken the back tire off first, put the donut there, then put that tire on the front.

What are the chances the LSD sustained damage in that 20 mile trip?

TIA!

Thanks, Webby! I know it seems weird, but I actually do know what an LSD is and what it does. It's just the manual says driving with a donut on the front will damage the LSD, and I didn't know if a 20 mile trip was enough to cause that damage or not.

Good to know you don't think so! And thanks again! :)

A short distance like that isn't going to do harm. Only thing I can think is that a smaller diameter donut would potentially cause the lsd to engage/activate. Can't be worse than someone doing heavy track driving, autox or whatever on normal tires.

You should be fine, the donut I would assume is the same diameter of the stock rim/tires or putting a smaller diameter donut in any place on the car would cause a safety concern. I would bet they just put that in the manual so it covers their butt from someone trying to claim that.
