Touch up paint not 100% match?

I bought a bottle of official, genuine Honda paint for my color. I used it to cover up some rock chips, but it looks like the color isn't a 100% match. I was wondering if this is normal?
My car is about 6 months old.

Is that Dyno blue pearl? The darker color looks like midnight blue.

Never mind, I see you have gray. Usually Honda's touch up paint is dead on from my past experience.

doesn't even look close... does the code on the bottle match the code on your door jam sticker?

this isn't exact, but it'll be something similar to this -

Yea it does. Door Jam says NH797M, while the bottle say 08703-nh797mah-pn. Unless these extra numbers mean for a different application. The Dealer checked my car and picked it out of me as well.

If the touch up paint doesn't have clear coat mixed in you are probably partially noticing that as well.

@RaskyR1 may have some input. He's a master.

You could also try these guys and get a paint pen. Their color matching is pretty dead on. Just input your year, make, model and go from there. You might want to watch some youtube vids of using the pens and just for touchup tips in general. Feathering can help hide the blemish as well.

Also pick up a clear coat pen if you want to try and make it look more even and shiny.

Metallic and Pearl paints look very different between being sprayed on and painted on. Mixing in a little clear (or better yet, paint thinner) would make it match a bit more

They seem to have pretty good reviews on color matching. I just ordered it and a clear coat. Let's see how well it is.

Metallics are a bit#h! The flake lays differently vs. being sprayed and I've never had one where I'm 100% happy with it.

I would agree with other on getting it from here though.
