Smog testing with DP and FP

I have a buddy that has a 2012 FB6 fully bolted on and went to get smog tested. He found out that the second O2 sensor was not working. What i mean is that is was turned off after modification through the tuner. My question is can he turn it back on to get tested? When he got it tested they said they couldn't becasue of the second O2 sensor. Has anyone with dp and tune been smog tested? Also what would be the ill effects if he turned it back on through FP?

I told him the same thing. I have the same set up as him, I was surprised to find out they smog tested in VA. I have lived here for 20 years now and haven't ever heard of VA smog testing until this time. He told me it was Northern VA that did it and they have special decals that coincide with the inspection stickers. Guessing it has to do with being close to D.C. He asked if could check my calibration and see if it was on or off, I checked and mine was off as well. Is there a reason for this.?

I have Rv6 pipe...currently on stock map - no engine light and readiness codes set. Worse case scenario reload stock map drive until readiness codes set and e-test. Then reload tune.

I have seen that happen before -- the secondary I disable intentionally on tuned cars because it can and will mess with closed loop operation (and we don't want it interfering on a tuned car) -- but sometimes the readiness code for it does not get set (maybe Hondata can address this, I wouldn't hold my breath).

For smog, you can turn it on and as long as it is located in the angled defouler it *should* be OK and not trigger a code. Just remember to drive around a bit to get the readiness codes set (and you can check their status with your FP & a laptop).
