Places on earth where no one can hear you scream

I have been in two anechoic chambers, one at the Klipsch world headquarters / engineering center - Indianapolis, Indiana, and the other at the Klipsch manufacturing facility in Hope, Arkansas. If you are in one for long, you can hear your pulse, and if the lights are turned out, you will loose all sense of balance and fall down.

Listening behind a loudspeaker given a swept sine tone from high to low frequency is interesting, you can hear the point where the polars expand, and the sound wraps around the cabinet... this must be carefully balanced with eq for the intended application / distance from boundaries.

There is a (comparatively) small one at our facility. We share our building with an aerospace design group, who use it for various tests.

I've never used, or spent any time with it.

I would imagine you'd hear the ringing much louder.

I was thinking it could be picking up ambient sounds and that was what the ringing was.......... but just putting the palms of my hands against my ears, seems to increase the ringing, so, self, that thoughts out. Still would be something I'd like to try.

I would love to see one of these rooms. Press release from Apple said the only person able to withstand long lengths of time in the test chamber is Chuck Norris.
