I think the mugen visors stick out more, but I've not seen either first hand.

There's a difference. Kplayground's are Mugen replicas, they are installed ONLY with 3M adhesive, and have a 'ventilation' channel (as you can see in the picture above). The Honda door visors are installed with 3M adhesive as well as two (per visor) in-channel clips.

I don't really see it but the clips sounds like the OEM ones would be safer

They're not visible at a distance. I prefer the Honda door visors over the others out there on the market, but that's just me.
