Honda engineer Shubho Bhattacharya, inspired by his belief that global warming is one of the greatest challenges facing mankind today, developed technology to reduce energy in the auto body-painting process at the Honda manufacturing plant in Marysville, Ohio. Very interesting, but I was noticing that they were getting painted after the parts were put together.... I always"thought" each part was painted then put together?????

Painting it assembled allows for the flake and whatnot to be all in the same direction without any issue. If you've ever damaged one area of a car, you'll usually find out that they have to blend the paint into the surrounding panels to attempt "hiding" any differences. A person who knows what they're looking for can spot panels that have been painted separately.

The environmentally responsible side of Honda is something that I definitely like and admire but when it comes to their recent paintjobs.....I don't care what they want to do if they would just start PUTTING MORE/THICKER PAINT ON THE CAR!!!!!!

That's true! I had the back quarter panel and front quarter panel keyed on the driver's side of my car and they had to repaint the entire side of the car (front and rear quarters, and door) in order for it to blend properly

The problem is, these type of ppl never get caught(ie; 99.999%)...... (I know you knew that, It tee's me off they they get away with it).

yeah. that's an issue.
my friend got her new volvo xc90 SUV, 2 days later DINGED in the parking lot at the mall, by the red car next to her which left paint on her door, and her paint on their door edge... she was walking out with me, saw it, flipped, smashed her milkshake into their cracked open moonroof... LOLOL... it was all over inside the car, on the roof, EVERYWHERE... i LOL'd

I would've done the same and drove off fast lol , but yes Honda needs to put more paint on our cars.

I totally agree!! My brother in law just scratched my passenger side door jamb with his big a$! foot. I'm so pissed, Lookin at the yospeed covers...
