Took some leave this past week to go to the Rolex 24 at Daytona. On Friday I ran into a friend who is working for one of the Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge teams. He said they needed some help with pit stops. I got to be the dead man for the fueling process. Not a glamorous thing; but, critical bc if you don't do your job fuel does't flow lol! It was a very cool experience getting to actually be in the pits for a race and see how things work behind the scenes, how hectic things get, etc. I'll have some pics posted later. They started dead last and finished halfway through the pack. If it weren't for some trans/clutch issues they would have likely finished higher.

And I haven't been on here in a while. I've been very busy with work and my first child! I've got sway bars and an intake to throw on the car. Ordering track wheels, tires, brake pads, brake rotors, brake lines (if I can find any), and some other things for the upcoming track day schedule. As soon as I get a beater this car will be my dedicated track rat.

Will do, I plan on throwing some parts on the car this weekend since it's my only free one for the next few weeks and if I can get this nappy plasti-dip off the wheels I'll shoot some pics too.

Also got a chance to snap a pic of the car after the last pit stop coming down from the oval into the infield from our pit box.

And some more random pics

And don't pass out next to the camp fire

It's a sealed HPD engine. From the looks of it - it's a K24Z7 bottom end, with a K20 head. Has the 8th gen intake manifold with 4 port exhaust. HPD brings a slew of people to these races if something goes awry with the engines since they are sealed. The cars are very close to stock with the exception of the engine of course. Stock brake sizes, stock trans w/ upgraded clutch, gutted interior, and upgraded suspension bits.

Lots of nice cars and pics! I clearly like the Honda but that Aston Martin looks pretty nice as well.

I have about 200-300 decent shots from the whole weekend I'll be posting up on Flickr in a couple of days. I'll throw the link up here when it happens.
