Guys, I am considering the purchase of a metric socket set. I have always used Craftsman tools, but now they are made in China and may be cast instead of forged like they used to be. Any recommendations?

Appreciate your help.

Also I think if they're forged it will say so on the tool, that way you can check before buying, and Craftsman(I think) still has replacement guarantee.

If you're looking for made in the US stuff -

You could always look for garage sales, or ebay auctions for older craftsman stuff that was made in the US. A lot is going to depend on your budget, because most of the tools made in the US will be significantly higher in cost. Craftsman was pretty much the only cheap option for US based tools.

Thanks Webby. I have learned that Craftsman now offers the Craftsman Industrial line that is made here. The prices for these tools seem reasonable.
