Does the eco button really save on gas

I'm just wondering if using the eco button is worth it. I would imagine in town it helps but what about on the highway does it really help there?

The first 10% & last 10% of the throttle is not adjusted when the ECON button is on. But when it is on it makes the AC unit to blow a little less cold & has the transmission advance in gears earlier to let the mechanics of the gears move the car forward more so than revving up the RPM’s & then shifting.

so, if you're running your AC on the highway, it will have an effect on your mpg.

Seems that I get better mpg if I leave the ECO button off, especially on the highway!
