Air con stopped working

Hi, my mate hit a pheasant, and it dislodged the outside temp sensor.... Now the Ac has stopped working! I didn't think these systems wee connected, is it just a coincident?
How do I check the Ac unit?

Countless people blew their ac from rocks on the 8th gens. It sits low behind the bumper & any rocks or whatever could damage it. It could be punctured? Fuse could be blown (inside engine bay fuse box)? An ac shop could prob tell you pretty fast by looking.
