My buddy works as a parts guy at the Honda dealership where i bought my 2013 LX. They've got a spare set of 2013 SI 17' alloys with new stock summer tires that he'd sell me for 1grand, installed.

Do you guys think this is a solid deal? My only complaint with the LX is that I cant stand the steelies, they just bug me. I'd be trying to sell the stock 15 steel wheels on all seasons on kijiji to make up some of the cost. Think I could get around 400$ outta them? I drove on them for one day on the way to have my winters installed.

Also, I'm thinking there might be some suspension differences between the LX and SI, would the SI rims look equally as nice on a stock LX suspension, or would there be a much bigger wheel gap?

Thanks for any advice!

There are some wheels on sale from chh if you're looking for other options -

for comparison - the 2013 oem si wheels run $287/wheel msrp (without tires). CHH sells them for about $60 less per wheel.

So, for a set of new wheels/tires... a grand installed would not be a bad situation (if you're wanting the si wheels). I've seen some used sets of rims be sold on here for like 4-500ish, but then you still need tires/shipping etc.

You'll also need to make sure they reprogram your tpms wheel sensors when they do the install, or you'll have an error on your Imid display. Shops around me charge around $75 to reprogram the sensors.

Ok cool, so it sounds like I'm getting a decent deal through my buddy. Thanks for the links to compare

Any input on the suspension issue? I don't plan on lowering my LX, and it seems like anything other than OEM rims look silly on a stock suspension. Would the SI wheels have a bigger wheelgap on an LX due to differing suspension setups between the 2 trims?
