Hello everybody,

I have a parking dilema at the moment. The only places I have to park at my new home are in the back alley in our driveway or in front of my house curbside on a non busy street with large lane. Where is the best place for me to park at in a not the worst but not the best kind-a neighborhood? Do the 2012 Civic's have good security systems in place from break-ins? Thanks any tid bits will help :itsme:
My care is the same and its been broken into twice in two months. They tried to drive it but the engine cut off. If anyone has any ideas, we sure could you them. My 2012 Civic has the complete stock alarm system. Thank you.

1st .... Does an audio alarm go off if entered, and how did they get in the car to start with ?

I've never tried to break into mine, so I don't know. I have had other cars & mc's with aftermarket alarms, and have found the best system is one that will go off if the car is shook and/or stricked. The main thing is to have one that has a page that you have near you at all times(like with your keys).

Most car alarms aren't load enough to hear from inside a building, and getting up to see if the sound you hear is from your car is not always convenient when your not "sure" it's yours, and guaranteed no one else is going to get involved.

They did not drive the car, they just keep getting into the car without having the alarm go off. The second time they tried to tear open the rear side window to get in. But both times they go in the alarm was set, and they got into the car and were able to open the trunk with almost no knows.

I just looked though my manual and it says that some do & don't have audio alarms, and from what I can see there's a red flashing light that goes all thetime he car is locked and the key is outside. What it doesn't say is if this flashing light is for on or the other or both. We'll need to dig deeper into our records to see if we have an audio alarm.

Would still like to know more ifo about how they got as far as trying to drive off beore it was abandoned. And... when you discovered it attempted-stolen?

OK........ I'd get a pager alarm, for sure. When I was living in Denver downtown(Chapital Hill), I caught someone trying to open one of my saddle bags on my motorcycle about 2/3 in the morning(normal), my silent pager went off And I walked up behind him and asked if he was interested in buying my bike. Turns out he was a kid about 15 / 18 years old that lived in the apt below me with his Mother, so I took him to his door, and knocked, when the Mom opened the door she saw me with the kid being held by the scruff of his neck with my left hand and the .357 in my right. I 'splan'd her the story, and she said, "What do you want me to do about it", and I told her, that's up to you, and if he does it again I won't call the police I'll take care of it myself. They moved within a week............ Pagers work......
