The winner of the 17th annual Rubber Duck Regatta was announced during Sunday's Riverfest.
Ron Bertrand from Batavia was the winner of the 2012 Honda Civic Sedan LX, courtesy of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda dealers. Over 125,000 ducks were dropped into the Ohio River to raise money for the Freestore Foodbank. Bertrand's duck was the first one to cross the finish line of the course laid out for the rubber ducks.
Over $625,000 was raised for the Freestore Foodbank.
Other winners were:
- $5,200 from Kroger ($100 per week for a year: Jennifer Cowgill – Cincinnati OH
- $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union: Alyce Sheehan – Liberty, OH
- $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union: Marita Pelgren – Villa Hills, KY
- $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union: Paul Schmidt – Cincinnati, OH
- $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union: Linda and Tony Cole – Cincinnati, OH
- $500 cash from KEMBA Credit Union: Ann Keen – Cincinnati, OH
