Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

5! Damn.

After the initial two years, permits can be renewed for 3-year periods
That’s not too bad. I still feel there should be MORE requirements to get your FOID Card and the laws need to be more strict if you’re caught with a firearm without one.

I guess each state has their own rules. I had no clue some states made you do a class again.

Every 5 yrs here, and just requires you to watch a suicide prevention vid and pay $20:

Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) can be renewed up to 90 days before it expires or within one year after expiration. To renew, applicants must watch a firearms safety/suicide prevention video and submit the renewal application, along with required documents and $20, either online, by mail, or in person.

I just sent some money in the mail to renew mine; Even though Texas is a CC State now, it's helpful to have and maintain a CHL.

Florida has followed suit with similar laws. Starting in July 2023, if you're legally allowed to possess a firearm (21yr old (18 if a veteran discharged under honorable conditions), US citizen, FL resident, no felony convictions, no violent crime history, no drug/alcohol abuse on record, physically able to safely handle a firearm, etc.) you can CC in the state without a permit (basically, if you meet the requirements for a permit, you're allowed to carry without one).

If you do go through the process to get a permit (I did), it is valid for a period of 7yrs. Renewal is basically a form, a photo, and a background check to verify you still meet the eligibility requirements for a permit (there are some extra items for an initial application or if you're past 180 days from permit expiration). Oh, and it'll cost $57 ($45 processing fee, $12 'convenience' fee but this varies by county as not all collect it).

It's been a while, but it's time for more HOT AND STEAMY Tales with ya boi Honda-Fan!

This one's a lengthy one, so grab a snack and a sugary drink!

Over the weekend my apartment's A/C unit quit (Just mine). I didn't notice it right away because I was too busy watching anime but after a while I noticed it was getting hella hot! I went over to the thermostat and noticed it had gotten two degrees hotter inside even though I wasn't doing anything to warrant that. It was also colder outside, so I knew something was kind of fishy (like a smelly Mackerel!). I continued to leave it on while I went online for answers. The first answers pointed to a dirty filter -- which seemed plausible at the time. Only problem? Machine door's inaccessible to residents, and Maintenance is gone on the weekend. The perfect storm for a Sauna Saturday and Sunday. Or... so I thought.

The heat does strange things to a man's brain
And I'm already a strange man

So after a shower to try and cool off, I get the idea to just... you know... tug on the door to the Evaporator a bit. It's supposed to be locked, but who knows?
To my luck, it was 100% unlocked.

Behold, the thang---

You see it, right?
That filter is kinda dirty -- so I figured I'd got it. I went over to the store the next day and got a cheapie Filtrete that fit the dimensions. Had to jam it in there, but it did fit. Flipped the switch and got a small compressor hiss...

And then nothing. The vents? Straight up lukewarm air pumping full blast on an already hot and humid day. I held out hope it would cool down, so I left it on for an hour. BIG MISTAKE. The Results?

Now I know what you're thinking. Honda-Fan, you big dummy, just open a window. Can't! It's hotter outside!
So I accidentally Sauna'd myself over the weekend. Monday comes, and the maintenance folks do their stuff...

My Compressor was actually the culprit -- and because they had to order a replacement, they gave me a war-weary portable. I've got this guy until... probably Wednesday. My only irritation is that this absolute condensation belcher was aimed right at my manga. DISRESPECTFUL!
