Honda Trademarks The Prelude Name - New Car Coming? With/Updates

So the car is coming out late 2025 and will have an "eCVT"/simulated auto trans. Something along those lines. No power figures mentioned.

I believe the design of the Prelude came out before the new/current Toyota Camry, but the Prelude is looking like a baby camry in the front.

Just saw this on HondaProJason facepoop page.....not shareable but I'm sure you can find it....

Suspension stuff sounds good but no manual? that stinks..... This and the Celica coming back to life? Seems like a good time for enthusiast but manufacturers still missing the mark, at least the no manual from Honda.

BREAKING NEWS!! 1st Look at the INSIDE of the next Honda Prelude!! Driven by Japanese journalists

The next Prelude is based on a modified Civic platform and will utilise the Type R’s dual-axis MacPherson strut front suspension. This uses additional, highly rigid components to separate the steering axis from the damper axis which not only increases the vehicle’s track width, but also helps minimise torque steer.

Additionally, the Prelude also gets the hot hatch’s adaptive dampers, and there is a GT drive mode available alongside Comfort, Sport and Individual options

The idea that the Prelude will be more of a Grand Tourer rather than and out and out sports car. It was also pointed out that the prototype’s suspension wasn’t as firm as the Civic Type R and it had less aggressive Continental PremiumContact 6 tyres.

Also a good look at the interior of the Prelude, which is partially covered up AND STILL PROTOTYPE

The Prelude’s center console is completely different from the Civic, with a button-type gear selector placed in the middle, joined by controls for the electronic parking brake (with auto hold function), drive mode selector and S+ Shift mode – the cupholders appear to have been moved further back. We also see the back seat

The body everyone wanted for the integra, the drivetrain no one asked for?

Thats true, Honda just likes to give us the car that looks like the one we want but then neuter it for enthusiasts

  • Leaked Japanese pricing suggests Prelude will be one of Honda’s most expensive cars.
  • Prelude reportedly costs more than Civic Type R, Nissan Z, and even the GR Supra in Japan.
  • The single available trim of the hybrid coupe will reportedly cost ¥6,179,800 ($41,000).
The Prelude is said to launch in a single trim level priced at ¥6,179,800 (about $41,000). A more exclusive Honda ON Limited Edition, featuring a black roof and several dealer-installed extras, will be listed at ¥6,540,000 ($43,400).

Buyers can choose Flame Red or Crystal Black Pearl at no extra cost, while Meteoroid Gray Metallic adds ¥38,500 ($256), and the Moonlit Pearl finish comes with a premium of ¥85,000 ($565).

How Much Will in Cost the USA?

Since the reportedly leaked figures are for Japan, it’s hard to pin down exactly what the Prelude will cost in the States. Still, if the Japanese pricing is any indication, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the hybrid coupe crest the $40,000 mark here, making it at least $10,000 more than the mechanically related Civic hybrid.

However, final pricing will also depend on where the Prelude is manufactured and how Honda chooses to position it in global markets. The Japan-built Civic Type R, for example, costs $12,700 more in the U.S. than in Japan.

On the other hand, the U.S.-built Accord is about $3,500 cheaper for American buyers than for Japanese ones. Meanwhile, the Civic, currently made in Japan but soon moving to Honda’s Indiana plant, carries a $3,000 markup in the U.S. market.

NO ONE is going to buy this at $40k or more. Another flop out of Honda. :pat:
