Switching to a thinner front sway, say from an LX or EX car can help a bunch with balance. If the one you bought is the same size as the stock bar but has a soft setting then do that. You would need the bar, model specific end links, and the mounting bushings. If it is a thicker bar you bought, it will effectively make the understeer worse even though the car will stay flatter with less body roll.



My car has the 22mm rear sway and the smallest front sway available. On the highway changing lanes you can sometimes feel the back end wanting to come around. It really only gets loose feeling over 75 mph. The faster you are going the more you will notice these type of problems. At low speeds there aren't enough forces to cause certain things to happen. Its still unsettling and I don't like to suggest people do things to their cars that could cause them to crash.

Thanks for the tip, i believe it is slightly bigger than the OEM one, i plan on eventually doing Gridlife and track events, so high speed stability is also important for me.

Not yet. :/ i did handling mods first, now time to make it fast. I was originally going to keep car for 3 years, now im keeping her forever. Next I'm getting coilovers, entire full race exhaust, and then turbo settup. My ultimate goal is 305 hp at wheel... but that's years away lol.

Where did the 305 number come from? Why not just 300?

I'd suggest a supercharger if your looking to make around 300 whp. Less strain on the motor/trans, more reliable, easier install, can keep the DP instead of swapping for a turbo DP, instant power for autocross. If your going to drop cash on a turbo setup then you have to (in my book) hit 400+whp. Plus the torque of turbos will cause more damage quicker to your trans, that will be an added expense to fix/beef up.

Why 305? Honestly I don't know... im just a weird guy... i did put fender flares on an effin civic after all... 5 is my favorite number and +300hp (to wheel) seems like a good goal to me.

I am still torn in between super charger or turbo, but again, that's years away.
 
Days/months/years I'm with you on that. SC all day for my daily driver when funds will allow and I'd definitely listen to @Nix and @squiggy, these guys know a lot about these cars and general knowledge that I learn from constantly. Hope you reach your end goal bud!:thumbsup:

Right now it is my daily, i do all the maintainance, i do work at Firestone after all. All flushes have been done already and what not. (She's a little bit over 50k miles now)

If anything the short term mods will be entire full race exhaust system (3 inch dp, catback) , hondata, and coilovers.

But by 2 years im hoping to get forced induction.

If you are planning to autox get some seat time before you do go forced induction so you can get a feel for your car and throttle control. More power is not always faster on the cone course. One of the fastest guys in my area is running a bone stock LS motor in his 93 EX hatch, blows all the other guys with power outa the water. Nothing against forced induction either I am building a supercharged EK after all.
 
I mostly go with WindyCityMiataClub, i already requested off for the first 6 events haha. I can't wait, they will have an event at the TireRack test track.

I will try and attend other club's events, and i also want to do track nights at actual road courses.

Update on 03/05/16

Got H&R DRM hubcentric 25mm spacers, my winter settup looks awesome, can't wait till snow is gone for sure so i can put on my summer settup.








Now i should be able to fit 255's no problem
 
^^ looks like we are going to get an early spring this year although I'm East of you and I think we generally get less snow than you.
Weather reports say we are headed to double digits this week. (We use Celsius, not Fahrenheit) :dance1:
